ALAIN ROUSSEL, Founder and Maitre Cuisinier de France:
Alain was born in Northern France and went to culinary school at a young age. He honed his skills at prestigious Parisian institutions such as Hotel de Crillon, Hotel Plaza Athenee and Maxim's. In 1978, he was promoted Executive Chef of Maxim's in Mexico city. The American adventure started in 1982 and culminated with the launching of "La Ferme" in 1985.
Alain was recognized for his talent, hard work and commitment to the values of French culinary traditions by being named "Maitre Cuisinier de France", one of only 350 Chefs in the world.
He lives in Chevy Chase and is married to Marinette since 1975. Together they have two sons Camille and Louis. Alain enjoys travelling all over the world and is an avid motocycle rider since 1970.s.
SCOTT CHAMBERS, Executive Chef:
GUILLAUME de DECKER, General Manager
Guillaume was born in Provence where he grew up on the family kiwi farm. He graduated from the University of Strasbourg business school in 1987. He lives in Chevy Chase and is married to Miriam (a Chevy Chase native) since 1989. Together they have two boys Charles and Edward.
Guillaume worked for the Dannon Co. and Hewlett-Packard in France and was the General manager of the high-end furniture store Roche Bobois in Friendship Heights for 15 years.
In 2015, he rejoined la Ferme, where he first worked in 1997 when he moved to the USA. For the past 20 years he has been a fervent supporter of the restaurant and got on board to keep it going as one of the finest institutions in the DC area.
In 2016, he oversaw the construction and the launching of the new bar 'Cognac". A great step towards the revitalization the restaurant.
